Jaeger-LeCoultre Wristwatches
1833 Antoine LeCoultre (1803-1881) founded Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre.
The micrometer
In 1844, LeCoultre measured the micron for the first time; created the most precise measuring instrument, the millionometer (a device capable of measuring to nearest thousandth of a millimeter).
The keyless works
In 1847, LeCoultre created the system for eliminating the need for keys to rewind and set watches. A push-piece activated lever changed from one function to another.
Early recognition
In 1851 at the Universal Exhibition in London, LeCoultre was awarded a gold medal for his works in the fields of precision and mechanization.
The Founding of the Manufacture
The Manufacture makes 125 simple calibers and 31 complicated calibers.
